HigherPurpose is a community‑driven initiative rooted in the belief that we are all instruments of something greater. When compassion, awareness, and action come together, lives change — especially for youth who feel unseen, unsupported, or unsure of their path.

This space was created to bring together people who care deeply about the future of our young people, newcomers, vulnerable families, and those who simply need someone to notice their struggle. The work is not about any one person. It is about responding to the quiet cries of those who apply for 30 or 40 jobs without a single acknowledgement, who feel lost in a system that doesn’t always see them, and who need guidance, mentorship, and opportunity.

The Book of Lists — A Tool for Direction, Dignity & Opportunity

The Book of Lists is one of many ways we can give back. Inspired by the detailed structure of the Ottawa Book of Lists, this resource is being shaped into a practical guide for youth and newcomers who need clarity and direction.

It will include:

Mentorship pathways — connecting youth with community leaders, business owners, and professionals

Job‑shadowing opportunities — allowing young people to experience real workplaces and see that success is not as distant as it seems

A directory of businesses hiring — with clear instructions on how to apply

Volunteer placements — helping youth build confidence, skills, and community ties

Support resources for vulnerable families — because stability begins with dignity

The goal is simple: To create a living guide that opens doors, restores hope, and helps shape future leaders.

Why This Matters

Many young people today face challenges that are invisible from the outside:

Applying endlessly for jobs with no reply

Lacking mentors or role models

Growing up in single‑parent or overworked households

Feeling disconnected from community

Carrying emotional burdens without support

HigherPurpose exists to respond to these realities with compassion and structure. When youth are given direction, exposure, and encouragement, their entire path can change.

Guided by a Higher Calling

This work is grounded in humility — the understanding that we are not the doers, only the instruments. As Autobiography of a Yogi teaches:

Never admit that you live by the power of food and not by the power of God!
He who has created every form of nourishment,
He who has bestowed appetite, will certainly see that His devotee is sustained!
Do not imagine that rice maintains you, or that money or men support you!
Could they aid if the Lord withdraws your life-breath?
They are His indirect instruments merely.
Is it by any skill of yours that food digests in your stomach?
