Highland Fairview
Under the direction of President Iddo Benzeevi, Highland Fairview and its affiliate companies are developing the Highland Fairview Corporate Park in Rancho Belago, California. The Trump Group firm broke ground on the project in March of 2010. This initial phase of development involves 2.6 million square feet, the majority of which has already been leased to the sneaker company Skechers USA, Inc. The project will allow Skechers USA to consolidate from five facilities to one central location. Highland Fairview’s development plan will have a positive effect on the Riverside County and Moreno Valley economies, bringing in more than 1,000 construction jobs and housing approximately 3,000 employees upon completion. This is a significant growth factor for a Southern California county that endured an unemployment rate of approximately 15 percent in 2010. The Highland Fairview Corporate Park facility will be fully automated, utilizing an advanced material handling system that efficiently receives, stores, packs, and ships product for distribution throughout the United States. Highland Fairview has designed the corporate park with green building standards in mind. When completed, the logistics center will become the largest industrial-use building in the United States certified through the Green Building Council’s LEED rating system. Highland Fairview also incorporates setbacks and buffers into the building’s design, helping preserve the area’s air quality. In total, the Highland Fairview logistics park will bring nearly $50 million in up-front contributions to the local economy. This includes a contribution of $1.2 million to the Moreno Valley School District, $13.7 million in city road improvements, $5.4 million in environmental funds, $5.8 million in new water and sewer infrastructure, $7 million for flood control Improvements, and $8 million in city fees.
