Mrs. Hilda Nkor is a corporate governance, human resource & finance management expert with over 23 years working experience in the health, banking & corporate sectors of the economy as well as in public, private & not-for-profit organizations.

A graduate of Sociology from Abia State University, she began her career as an HR Assistant and Hospital Administrator at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Ondo State after which she did a brief stint with the then Chartered Bank during which time she was involved in various aspects of banking operations. She later worked as an Administrator at Sovereign Flame Mission, a faith-based NGO, from where she joined Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN) in September 2008, as a Programme Coordinator. In 2010, she became Head of Programmes and as a result of her leadership and managerial skills, she was then promoted to the position of General Manager, Business Development in 2015. Her continued commitment to the vision of SCGN and hard work later earned her the position of Chief Executive Officer in January 2017.

Overthe years, Hilda has successfully designed & executed programmes of learning, targeting Board Chairmen, Directors, Company Secretaries, Board Committees (Audit, Risk, Remuneration & Nomination) and Senior Management. She has also successfully conducted Board assessment & Evaluation for over 35 companies working closely with renowned boardroom experts to achieve resounding results.

Hilda strongly believes in the application of global best practices in corporate governance to the Board & Corporate environment in Nigeria, both in public and private sectors. Shehas facilitated at Directors’ induction Programmes (Executive & Non-Executive) on the subject of Corporate Governance, Board & Strategy development, Ethic, Compliance and has led her team to conduct and facilitate Board & Management retreats.Her proficiency in the subject of corporate behaviour has led her to host various conferences, seminars and workshop, in collaboration with regulators to drive knowledge in the field of corporategovernance. She has facilitated Senior Management trainings on fraud detection and management assessment of internal controls.

Hilda is also an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and an Alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School.

She is happily married with 3 children. When she is not advocating for widows & the girl-child,she is travelling/reading.
