I know how busy life is. I know how many directions you are physically and mentally being pulled. How can I have the nerve to ask you to carve out one more pocket of mental energy for politics? Who cares about those crazies! You are dealing with your own parties bickering at home, who wants to listen to a bunch of adults do the same!

You are brilliant. In fact you are the most influential voice in our society at the moment. Everyday you are molding, shaping, guiding the next generation. It is a tireless task, it isn’t glamorous, in fact it is the hardest job you have ever had. What if, unknowingly, you’ve set aside a very powerful tool vital to the next generation.

Information is power. We know this as parents. Which is why there are millions and millions of books, magazines, blogs, all giving us information on how to be a parent. When you have information, you make better decisions.

Transfer this same logic over to politics, voting even. Do you feel informed about the world around you? If you had to walk into a voting both today and vote for your state representative, senator, even president; would you walk away feeling like you made the best choice? Would you even vote?

Who wants to wade through the endless news cycles, feuding news outlets, and biased online articles? Who has time for that? You just want the facts.

That’s why I’m here. I’m going to give you just the facts on a few of the major political happenings each week. Your voice is important. Gather your information and make informed choices. Speak up during a dinner party, or at a play date. Add something to the conversation. Talk to your kids about it, embrace the democracy you have the privilege of living in, and teach them to do the same.

The FACTS only.

I will remain unbiased. Do I have my own opinions? Duh, of course! However, I am far more interested in providing you information than giving my opinion.

I will cite all my sources.

There will be NO COMMENTS. Politics brings out the worst in people, especially in the comments section. If you want to comment, feel free but it will only be sent to me. I promise to read every single comment. We don’t have time to argue and pick each other apart. You are here to gather information, only, and then move onto all the other important things in life, like engaging with your kids.
