I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of Toronto in Toronto, ON. Before that, I was a Research Assistant Professor at East Tennessee State University and previously a research fellow at the Argelander Institute for Astronomy at the University of Bonn in Germany. I earned my PhD at the University of Toronto; not bad for a small town guy born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada. My research interests include the study of stars: their structure, evolution and what they tell us about life and the beginning of the universe. I am also trying to get into writing by blogging.
