“I said it’s great, to be, a Georgia Bulldawg! I said it’s great, to be, a Georgia Bulldawg! Gooooooooo Dawgs! Sic ‘em! Woof Woof Woof!”

Twelve months ago, if someone had told me I would be screaming these words every Saturday in the Fall and attending the University of Georgia, I would have called them a liar. I moved to Georgia when I was just six years old and my entire life I have planned to “never stay in Georgia to go to school.” I applied to six different schools, including UGA for early admission as a back-up plan. I was admitted and immediately put the acceptance letter into my drawer. A few weeks later I was admitted into my dream school, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. I visited and took a tour in January and my dream was only solidified even more! I sent in my deposit and filled out a roommate and housing form, with orientation only a few months away. When suddenly, midway into the month of May I received notice that I did not qualify for student loans. Naturally, I was crushed. I had no idea what to do, my other options were also private schools. Therefore, I most likely would not qualify for loans with them either. After a great deal of prayer, thought, and advice from friends and family, I decided to commit to the University of Georgia. I would not change my experiences thus far for the world! This has been the time of my life, and I have met so many wonderful and amazing new friends. I am extremely blessed to be attending this University, and I cannot wait to see what the next three and a half years have in store!
