Hillarie Ann Rios Torres

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez majoring in Industrial Microbiology (Class 2015). I am working under the guidance of Professor Taras Oleksyk and Professor Juan Martínez Cruzado as an undergraduate research student in the “Local Genome Diversity Study”. I plan to obtain an MD which will provide me the opportunity and honor of being able to help individuals through a difficult illness and the awe of discovering the human body. This Summer 2013 I am participating in the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my time in Illinois I will be working at the Department of Virology with Prof. Dongwan Yoo.
