Hillary Rolfes

A former Litigation Associate with leading Houston firm Steele Sturm, Hillary Rolfes combines litigation skill with a keen analytical ability. In her nearly two years with the firm, she has counseled both defendants and plaintiffs in numerous labor, trade, and corporate matters. Considered among colleagues to be well-versed in these areas, Hillary Rolfes was frequently called upon to provide strategy recommendations and draft relevant documents.

A graduate of the South Texas College of Law, Hillary Rolfes showed promise early on in her legal education. She served as a law student representative to the Houston Young Lawyers Association's Board and as Assistant to the Managing Editor of the South Texas Law Review. She received the Phi Delta Phi Highest Grade Awards in Federal Civil Procedure and Property Law and competed in the Intramural Moot Court Competition, where she reached the quarter final level.

Hillary Rolfes completed several judicial internships while pursuing her law degree. In the summer of 2007, she served as a judicial intern in the Harris County Probate Court of Texas. There, she participated in daily docket and trial preparation as well as the updating of a practitioner's guide. The following spring, she worked under Justice Kem T. Frost with the Fourteenth Court of Appeals, where she gained experience in research, drafting, and editing. She then went on to serve as a Summer Associate at the Houston firm of Crain, Caton & James.

Following receipt of her law degree, Hillary Rolfes returned to the Fourteenth Court of Appeals as a Briefing Attorney. She continued to build experience in research, drafting, and case analysis, while working closely with appellate justices. After 17 months in this role, she returned to private practice in her recent role at Steele Sturm.

In her free time, Hillary Rolfes enjoys fitness and running. She has competed in the Houston Marathon and participates in the strength and conditioning program CrossFit. An animal lover as well, she makes frequent donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
