Heather Hilton Johnson

I am a midwife and small business owner, currently living in San Antonio, Tx.

My calling to birth work has been present for me since I was young. But it wasn't until 2008 that I began my journey to midwifery. After becoming a birth doula and witnessing this transformative process unfold in a variety of settings, I had found a new passion; Gentle Birth, Home Birth. I saw the power of women and the innate knowledge their bodies had to give birth when they were supported, empowered and felt safe. I saw babies being born gently and lovingly into their own homes, surrounded by family, without the use of unnecessary interventions. This is what I wanted to devote myself to.

In 2012 I completed my midwifery training and became a Certified Professional Midwife as well as a Licensed Midwife in the state of California. I opened a practice there and served the community until 2022 when my family & I decided it was time for a new chapter and relocated to San Antonio, Tx.

In the fall of 2022 I became a Licensed Midwife in the state of Texas and launched Birth Bliss Midwifery! I am thrilled to be here and look forward to supporting many San Antonio families on their journey through pregnancy and birth.

My personal interests range from hiking to herbs, gardening and swimming. Being outdoors and spending time with my children makes me smile.
