Sheikha Hind Bahwan

Sheikha Hind Suhail Bahwan is an Omani businesswoman and entrepreneur. She is the founder and chairperson of Bahwan CyberTek and Hind Bahwan Group, and since November 2024 has served as Chairman of the Family Business Council Gulf.

Born in Muscat, Oman, on 15 October 1974, she studied computer science and is an alumna of Harvard Business School.

She founded Bahwan CyberTek in 1999. The privately held technology company is headquartered in Chennai, India, and operates internationally. In 2016, Barnes & Noble contracted Bahwan CyberTek to take over technology services for its NOOK e-reader business. The company's development has been the subject of case studies published by Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2017, 2018 and 2024, the most recent reporting revenue of approximately US$330 million. In 2024 the company acquired the operations of STOICS IT in Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates and India.

Hind Bahwan Group is an Omani group of companies with interests in technology, energy and infrastructure, education, and lifestyle. Through Al Khadra Partners, she is a founding member of the Amnah consortium, which in 2023 was awarded Oman's first green-hydrogen land block for a planned US$6 billion project in Duqm. In 2020 she founded the fragrance house OJAR under Bahwan Lifestyle, whose first collection was developed with Givaudan.

She serves on the MENA advisory board of Harvard Business School and the advisory board of the Middle East Centre at the London School of Economics. She was previously a member of Deutsche Bank's Middle East advisory board, chaired the Oman chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization, and was a founding member of the GCC board of the Family Business Network. She founded and formerly chaired the Omani-French Friendship Association.

She was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Oman by Ernst & Young in 2000 and selected as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2007. In 2019 she was awarded the rank of Chevalier of the Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur by decree of the President of France. She has been included in Forbes Middle East's list of the region's most powerful businesswomen and in Arabian Business's 100 Most Inspiring Women.
