The Hairdressing Industry Training Organisation (HITO) is the Industry Training Organisation (ITO) for the barbering, beauty and hairdressing industries.

HITO administers the apprenticeship programme, including the management of on and off job training. We liaise with both the NZ Association of Registered Hairdressers and with the Association of Beauty Therapists NZ and the wider industry to set the standards of New Zealands national barbering, beauty and hairdressing qualifications.

HITO offer national certificates in hairdressing, barbering, salon support, salon management and a number of Beauty qulifications.
