hjpierce

hjpierce is a Brisbane based musician, producer and engineer. He has recorded, produced and self-released two studio albums and the latest pelican EP. Having been an active part of both the Wollongong and Hobart music scenes, hjpierce forged his skill as a notable instrumentalist. He began recording music in 2006 and has worked solo and in collaboration ever since. Using a sonic palette influenced by the timbres of post-rock, jazz, hip hop, punk and soul, he has created a sound that entertains an exploration of contemporary music. He is currently studying studio engineering at SAE institute and is a trained painter, which brings influence to his ethos of exploring creative projects in many medias. He has worked with the likes of Vincent Crook (of the mouldy lovers), The shits, Bilb ono and The babbling swing in both a musicians role and as a producer/engineer. He is currently working on his fourth studio release. hjpierce’s attitude towards recording music is focused on good musicianship, experimentation and an interesting end product - the song. From bedroom producers to seasoned professionals hjpierce has something to offer anyone who wants the assistance of a disciplined, interested and innovative mind.
