Hope Kramek
Hello!
My name is Hope Kramek and this will be my third year teaching seventh grade math in the scattered thunderstorm-filled, yet mostly sunshine state of Florida. I am also an aspiring educational technology “young grasshopper,” currently taking Masters classes at University of Central Florida in order to blossom into an official guru.
I believe in teaching students to love learning by providing engaging educational experiences, which in these exponential times often means through the use of technology. My blog, A Personal Journey of Incorporating Ed Tech in the Classroom, depicts my very own transformation from standard teacher into a specialized 3.0 educator. The stories of my ups and downs could lead us both to technological enlightenment.
In my post, To BYOD or Not to BYOD, I debate if the usefulness of cell phones outweighs their potential consequences in the classroom and then relate the issue to current student culture and my plan of attack to use them in my classroom.
It should be known that my undergraduate degree in Critical Media and Cultural Studies with a minor in Creative Writing has dually prepared my musing to be fraught with analytical discourse and peppery language.
Enjoy and feel free to start a discussion as well. I’m all about engagement on all levels.
