Herman van den Bosch

Valkenburg aan de Geul, the Netherlands

I have been acting as teacher and educational director in the Radboud University (NL) and as professor and dean in the Open University (NL). In both institutions I have been involved in educational innovation and the development of educational programs. My newest program is about innovation management.

My research has been focused for years at social science teaching, educational innovation, quality care, the use of ICT in education and educational management. Recently, I have initiated research in inter-organizational learning and the contribution of institutions of higher education in regional development.

I started my academic career as a student in human geography en environmental planning. My PhD-thesis explored the role of geography in global citizenship in primary education.

I have ample experience as peer and coach in faculty development programmes in the Netherlands and abroad in a wide range of topics: organizational matters in higher education, internationalization, educational innovation, quality care and the implementation of e-learning. During the last four years I have participated in peer evaluation teams initiated by QANU, NVAO and EQUIS with respect to business administration, economics, geography and liberal arts.

Can I help you?

My age allows me to work less then before. Fortunately, I have many opportunities to spend this time. Still, I feel that I want to share my experience as an educational innovator and leader with others. You might consult me free. Every now and then, I will accept more demanding assignments, if I feel that they appeal to my core competences.
