As a believer in God, the creator of heaven and earth and his son Jesus Christ the Messiah, the world and creation is a beautiful illustration of who and what God is. When I look at the world and everything that is good and perfect I know that it is reflecting it's creator, God. But, I know the world is also filled with evil and wrong, but that is not of God it is of us and of the Devil. God intended for everything to be perfect, but we messed it up. James 1:17 tell us, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights who does not change like shifting shadows." Sometimes this world may look bleak and somewhat like dark and shifting shadows, but through Jesus I have new hope and a new perspective even through the craziness of this life.

As a believer in Christ, I am a new creation. The old is gone and the new has come. I am set apart as God's adopted child. Because of the amazing gift of salvation, forgiveness, and grace that I have received through the cross of Jesus. As a result of this gift, my life should look different. I have been given the Holy Spirit, and I must let is shine through. I am at peace, while the world around me is frantically looking for their horoscope or trying desperately to predict the end of the world. My motives and goals in life are different and may look somewhat weird and unusual to society around me. Finally, my sense of belonging and of being loved is fulfilled beyond any doubt through Jesus. What makes me different is the gift of the Holy Spirit inside of me that I received when I let Christ come in and rule my heart.
