Hayden has twelve years experience in education and social development. He advises the Ministry of Youth Development on youth engagement and social media, has been an education consultant at UNESCO Bangkok, and previously spent seven years at the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO.
Hayden is a recognised leader and governance expert in the NGO sector having played a leading role as a founding member and President of UN Youth New Zealand, and going on to be National President of the United Nations Association of New Zealand (UNANZ).
Hayden is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (RSA), previously serving on the Board of the RSA A+NZ, and is very engaged in the work of the Asia New Zealand Foundation through its Young Leaders Network.
