Harry Hoberman, Ph.D., L.P.

Harry Hoberman is a forensic and clinical psychologist, licensed in Minnesota, Washington and Arizona. He received an A.B. from Brown University in psychology and political theory. At the University of Oregon, Dr. Hoberman earned a M.S. and a Ph.D in clinical psychology and completed additional coursework towards a degree in developmental psychology. After an advanced internship at the Neuropsychiatric Institute (NPI) at U.C.L.A., he joined the University of Minnesota Medical School, receiving appointments in four departments: Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Clinical Psychology and Child Development. He also attended in a master's program in Health Policy and Administration

For the past 15 years, the majority of Dr. Hoberman's professional practice has focused on the evaluation of risk or dangerousness of sexual and violent offenders characterized by various psychological conditions. Dr. Hoberman has provided such evaluations and been qualified by courts as an expert in multiple states as well as in Federal Court. From 2007-2012, he was elected to two consecutive terms on the Executive Board of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, authoring a position paper on Risk Assessment of Sexual Offenders. Most recently, Dr. Hoberman co-edited the book Sexual Offending: Predisposing Antecedents, Assessments, and Management (along with A. Phenix, Ph.D.). He authored or co-authored seven of the book's chapters.

In addition to such specialized activity, Dr. Hoberman has continued to be the choice of attorneys and courts regarding a varied set of complex forensic psychological cases, providing evaluations and expert testimony across a broad set of forensic psychological domains. Most commonly, Dr. Hoberman provides thorough reviews of record-dense cases involving complex psycho-legal issues. He subsequently conducts methodologically-sound and evidence-based psychological evaluations of litigants, typically resulting in detailed, comprehensive opinions. Dr. Hoberman's conclusions are based on the integration of multiple sources of information regarding litigants and the application of current scientific findings related to the particular case issues. His case analysis, report and testimony provide the relevant information and discussion of key psychological science involved in the case in a manner accessible and understandable to juries and judges. Dr. Hoberman has and continues to be retained in a variety of forensic areas.
