Hoboken Historical Museum
Historian, Art gallery, and Community event organizer in Hoboken, New Jersey
Educating the public about Hoboken's history, diverse culture, architecture and landmarks since 1986. We are open 6 days a week in one of the oldest buildings on Hoboken's waterfront (and 24/7 at hobokenmuseum.org). The Museum's exhibition space may be small, but packs a lot of information into a series of creative exhibits and hosts loads of fun events. Exhibits change every 6 to 12 months, and topics have included a history of music, sweets, maps, social & civic clubs, maps, the pivotal decade of the 70s, and through July 3, 2016, the centennial of Frank Sinatra's birthday. Our upper gallery hosts six exhibits per year by local and regional artists. We use interactive technology to expand our displays, and our collections manager has digitized tens of thousands of items, all accessible online. We organize lectures, films, tours, family fun and more. Sign up for email alerts:http://bit.ly/hhm_email_list. Our education programs reach thousands of children each year. We welcome volunteers for our special fundraising events, a great way to get to know people in town. Call 201-656-2240, or visit www.hobokenmuseum.org for more information.
