Nikkie Hockenberry
With twelve years in higher education and student affairs I have always approached every project or task that I have been approached for with creativity and energy. I seek to find fresh, innovative ways for students to suppliment their college experience by fostering leadership development, creating traditions and making self-discovery fun and exciting.
I have experienced all facets of student life, having worked with Residence Life, Student Activities, New Student Orientation, Greek Life and Student Governement. I am passionate about women's leadership, GLBTQQIA rights and issues and planning and executing meaningful programs that excite and inspire leadership.
I am completing a very unique Maters program where I have designed my entire program and classwork, working one on one with mentors to complete classes in women and gender studies. My thesis explores young women and leadership, specifically variables that may influence or deter them from pursuing and/or obtaining higher leadership positions.
I seek to work in environments where I can collaborate with students and collegues on menaingful projects that cater to experiential learning, civic engagement and leading with a purpose.
