Holly Nelson

I am a higher education professional, originally from the Midwest, with a splash of California and New York/New Jersey twist.

In September I began working at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with the Rensselaer Union, one of the few student-managed unions in the United States. As Communication Specialist, I work with student groups on how to brand and promote their events. I regularly conduct workshops for student groups and colleagues. In addition, I create @RPIUnion content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, Flickr and more.

Previously, I worked at Stevens Institute of Technology as Assistant Director of Student Life, advising student groups, planning large scale campus events, conducting leadership development workshops, teaching professional staff members how to be allies to LGBTQ students, overseeing campus club management software, and managing social media for the Office of Student Life.

I'm a self-taught social media mogul with a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies. I love great food and am always in search of unique affordable eateries.
