Holly Ross

Biography:

Holly has a passion for change and has led a career focused on helping nonprofits create more of it. A frequent public speaker, author, and leader in her field, has Holly has been recognized as one of the Nonprofit Times Power and Influence Top 50 four times, 2009 through 2012. Holly is also editor of "Managing Technology to Meet Your Mission: A Strategic Guide for Nonprofit Leaders" and has written a chapter in "Nonprofit Management 101: A Complete and Practical Guide for Leaders and Professionals," both available from Jossey-Bass

Holly came to nonprofit technology after working for social change at CALPIRG and during her college days at UC Berkeley. In between meetings and emailing, Holly tries to raise her daughter and occasionally pays attention to her fabulous husband.

Responsible for managing staff and board, setting strategy, fundraising, eminence building and operational effectiveness. During her tenure, NTEN:

  • Membership tripled
  • Annual revenues more than doubled
  • Developed a sustainable revenue model of 70% earned income and 30% grant funding
  • Solicited and won a $1,150,000 grant from Google

January 2003 - January 2008

Program Director, Nonprofit Technology Network

Engaged board, staff, and community members in development and execution of NTEN programs and services.

  • Grew annual conference from 250 to 1,200 attendees
  • Designed and implemented a webinar learning program starting in 2005, growig attendance to over 4,000 per year
  • Launched our first social media channels in 2007
  • Selected and oversaw successful implementation of a new CRM
