Holly "Sunshine" Dixon

I was born in a small town named Springfield, Massachusetts. I came to Miami as a child, attended various schools in the county and finally graduated class of 1979 from Miami Central Senior High School at the age of 16. I grew up having thoughts of owning my own business, it seemed to be in my blood. I started working in the industry where people were number one, such as the hotel industry, corporate offices, non-profit organizations and volunteering for organizations like The Girl Scouts of America and various churches giving back to our community. After being released from my last job with the non-profit organization as an Office Manager, I decided to attend Miami Dade College at the age of 43 to retrieve my degree in business. I succeeded and received my Entrepreneurial Certificate & Associates Degree with Honors, then to continue on for my Bachelors. I found out that I had everything I needed personally and educationally to obtain my own. During, this time I started out as a Mary Kay representative and made it a small family owned business eventually I started doing baskets and gifts and I called it Sunshine’s Baskets and Gifts. I found out that after about 8 years the business was growing into more of a foundation that wanted to service the people. We started providing a one stop shop and servicing them with a smile. So, I decided to change the name to Sunshine's Empire which has an entity of The Baskets & Gifts, Travel Agency, Taxes, Cleaning Service and Personal Assistant Services, among other services that we provide. I learned that making people happy and satisfied with what they get made me a person that lives by that motto of: “Your Smile is Worth a Million Dollars!” to me it is. This is why people call me Sunshine so I adapted the name to fit my business and myself.
