Holly DeNeve

Holly DeNeve is an Indiana-based attorney whose legal career has focused on child welfare. For over 10 years, she served with the Indiana Department of Child Services, taking on complex, often emotionally charged cases involving children and families. Her work was carried out consistently, with preparation, and with a clear commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for those she represented, even when her efforts went unnoticed by the public.

Holly graduated from New Prairie High School in 2004 and later earned a degree in political science with a minor in environmental studies in 2008, graduating magna cum laude. Her academic path continued at law school, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2011. That same year, she passed the Indiana Bar Exam and began practicing law, choosing to serve in the public sector rather than pursue private practice.

Her legal journey began at the Indiana Department of Child Services, where she initially worked as a temporary legal assistant before securing a full-time attorney role in St. Joseph County. Her responsibilities included representing the state in cases related to children in need of services, adoptions, guardianships, and the termination of parental rights. She was recognized for her thorough case preparation, calm courtroom presence, and ability to manage all aspects of litigation from discovery to cross-examination.

Holly developed a strong working relationship with prosecutors, judges, and caseworkers and remained well-informed on changes in statutes and case law. Her expertise led to invitations to present at several continuing legal education seminars. Although she briefly left the agency in 2016, she returned within months and continued her work there until September 2025, reflecting her ongoing belief in the importance of her role.

Her dedication extended beyond her job, as she and her husband regularly supported local organizations through donations and volunteer efforts. Early in law school, she also assisted survivors of domestic violence, reinforcing her belief in accessible legal support.

Holly DeNeve now plans to begin a solo legal practice focused on mediation, child advocacy, and child protection, continuing the thoughtful and steady work that has defined her career.
