John Holt entered the resort development business in his mid-twenties and possesses a vast knowledge earned from over 30 years of experience in the industry.

Land’or International, the company of which he serves as CEO, has developed resorts in Virginia as well as internationally and spans five decades of resort development. Lake Land’or in Virginia is one of the largest private resorts in the state; the company developed this property in the 1970’s. The resort features over seventeen lakes , clubhouses, pools, tennis courts, camping areas and other amenities. Further, Land’or International has developed resorts in the Bahamas and previously owned Xanadu Resort in Freeport, a property formerly owned by industrialist Howard Hughes (the company sold this resort in the mid-1990’s). The company has thousands of members worldwide that it has sold here in the United States and in the Bahamas. The corporate service center in Virginia services the member base for all of their reservation, exchange and travel needs. The company is affiliated with Holiday Systems International, which features over 6000 resorts available worldwide.

John Holt has written timeshare legislation for two countries (here in the USA and the Bahamas). He also co-authored the original vacation and timesharing legislation in Virginia and previously served two terms as President of the Virginia Resort Development Association (VRDA). He is the current chairman of the Bahamas Vacation Ownership Council (BVOC) and chaired the commission that wrote the Bahamas Vacation Timeshare Act of 1999. Mr. Holt previously held membership in the Chairmans League of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA).

John is an avid waterfowl enthusiast and enjoys sporting events with his golden lab Princess. He rides his quarter horse and competes in Western events and also enjoys tournament fishing on his yacht Thunderball. He and his wife Patty reside on their farm in Virginia where they raise horses. The Holts have a passion for and support the Dreamcatchers Therapeutic Riding Center in Williamsburg, as well as the Richmond Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
