Hope Macanza

Student in Johnannesburg, volunteer and marking assistant

I am Hope Macanza,a third year BEd student majoring in History and Afrikaans at the University of Johannesburg. My teaching philosophy: All learners are born with a set of keys, our responsibility as teachers is to help them identify what door to open by equipping them with the necessary skills to do so. My majors reflect my belief that language forms part of lived experience and that history is a living language. During my Teaching practice and the speedy advancement of technology, the importance of equipping learners with worthwhile skillsets has been emphasized, which is why, apart from my studies I enjoy taking part in teacher training workshops that focus on integrating 21st century skills effectively in the classroom (Classroom Innovation Collective/CIC), I also enjoy reading and writing.
