I am an award-winning Jamaican as well as Canadian author of 15 published novels, best known for the popular titles Lover's Leap: Based on the Jamaican Legend, Marooned in Nova Scotia, Seven Days in Jamaica, Underground to Freedom and Dawn at Lover's Leap, and my latest, The Queen that Wears the Crown.

I write historical and contemporary fiction. My subjects cover slavery in the Caribbean and North America, the Underground Railroad, lynchings in America, pirates, reggae music, and adventure tourism.

A former journalist, television news reporter and producer, I now concentrate on creative writing. I'm the first recipient of the BURLA Award for Outstanding Contribution to African Canadian and Caribbean Literature. My work has been described as prolific...gripping...growing from strength to strength...and one of our best-emerging writers."
