Over the past two decades, I played a key role in developing innovative technology solutions that have transformed scholarly communications. Some say I am the driving force behind CHORUS: Clearinghouse for the Open Research of the United States.

Co-founded and chaired ORCID – Open Researcher and Contributor ID system. Helped establish the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), CrossRef and CLOCKSS. Board of Director and past President for the Society for Scholarly Publishing.

Frequent speaker on a variety of publishing production and new technology themes.

Before joining CHORUS, I was CTO, Executive VP, for Nature Publishing Group in charge of global web and mobile development and operations, content management, production and manufacturing, and information technology across all NPG products. I also held positions Springer and John Wiley & Sons.
