Huey P. Newton Gun Club

Dallas, TX/February 11, 2015/ - In honor of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Clinton Allen, Tamir Rice, and many others (R.I.P.), the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, an Armed United Front composed of many different Black organizations located throughout America is organizing a National Day of Solidarity (Black Lives Matter) on March 16,2015.

We named our Armed United Front after the Co-Founder and Leader of the Original Black Panthers- Huey P. Newton. The Huey P. Newton Gun Club (H.P.N.G.C.) has launched numerous successful legal open carry patrols in the state of Texas, and now invites Black people throughout the country to participate. The recent media coverage of our open carry patrols by local news stations has been misleading and fear based. The H.P.N.G.C. is not The New Black Panther Party, although we have members who are a part of that organization in addition to Guerilla Mainframe, African Angels, NBLM and other groups focused on empowering people, specifically the Black community.

The goal of March 16th is to teach oppressed Black People community self-defense, through what Minister of Defense Dr. Huey P.Newton called: Observation and Participation! We will also educate the people about who we are and how they can get involved in creating Armed United Fronts in their own communities.

We want an immediate end to police brutality and murder of the Black community by the police state. Our position dictates that by organizing Black Self-Defense groups dedicated to defending our Black Community from police repression and brutality we can find some semblance of peace; the 2nd amendment to the U.S . Constitution gives us a right to bear arms. We therefore believe that all Black People should arm themselves for Self-Defense.

Also, we invite oppressed people throughout the World(especially Africans on the Continent and in the Diaspora) to participate on March 16th! We think that a unified people's solidarity is important because police terrorism has reached far and beyond the color lines.
