Growing up with outdoorsy parents had its perks. Aaron, my younger brother and I were privileged enough to have a childhood filled with muddy hands, sweaty boots, and endless moments of captivation. From the ages of seven to thirteen, I hiked alongside my family accomplishing the 48 tallest peaks in New Hampshire, each one over 4,000 feet in elevation. We were members of the Appalacian Mountain Club. Each weekend we made lunches, filled our packs and drove to the trail head. Every laugh I had with my family I will not forget, every laugh from a poor step through a river, every gratifying sigh of finally reaching the peak. Looking out over completely untouched land, it is a special experience one cannot put into words, except for "Go for a hike." My parents exposed Aaron and I to camping, canoeing, fishing, kayaking, bushwaking, and skiing. I saw every season and appreciated them to the fullest, and I still do.

I can safely say my childhood left me with an open mind on the outdoors world. Maybe that is why I am in the Horticulture field. I fell in LOVE with flowers and began sharing that love with everyone I met. I found myself being more creative, - more visual, seeing color, texture, combinations. I stepped into an unlimitled territory of talent. I soon after began my business for myself, doing flower arrangements for friends and family events, alongside the jobs I have resume listed. Then I fell in love with gardening. But! there was one thing in particular that really stimulated my appreciation for gardening. Perennials. Perennials seemed to be more logical and financially smarter than Annuals to me from the beginning, why wouldn't someone want a plant in their yard thats 1. Small and maintainable 2. Low cost 3. Gives color during a desired season. I specialize in cut flower perennial gardens and thoroughly enjoy the outdoors. Please step over to Instagram and follow me at Hannahplants for a New England garden gallery. For any gardener, you know the feeling when someone else appreciates your earthy creation, and that excitement I share with my clients, that is what I live for.
