Jean Pierre Hubschman, M.D.

Dr. Jean-Pierre Hubschman is an internationally recognized retina specialist and ranked among the top Vitreous Retinal Surgeons in France. He received his medical degree and completed his postgraduate internship in France. Dr. Hubschman also completed his residency and fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery in Europe. Following several years of successful private practice in Spain and France, he joined the Retina Division in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. Currently, Dr. Hubschman is appointed Chief of the Retina Division at Olive View Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. He has been involved in various national clinical trials for the treatment of retinal diseases. Dr. Hubschman also authored more than 40 peer-reviewed research papers, book chapters and scientific journal articles. He regularly lectures and presents at major international scientific conferences. Furthermore, he has contributed to the design and development of several vitreo-retinal instruments and devices. Dr. Hubschman is a member of highly recognized international organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Retina Specialist (ASRS), among others. As an attending physician at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, Dr. Hubschman specializes in the treatment of various conditions associated with the retina such as: • Retinal detachment • Diabetic retinopathy • Epiretinal membrane • Macular hole • Age-related macular degeneration
