Where do I begin…
In 2000 I graduated from NAIT with a business diploma in marketing. I worked in the life insurance industry for five years in succession planning, specializing in keyman insurance for corporations. I also organized the Ralph Klein Charity Classic golf tournament for five consecutive years.
In 2006, I decided to travel. I sold my condo, put all my belongings in storage, and went to Australia to backpack for a year. One year turned into three, and those three years were the best years of my life. I worked for various companies on a contract basis, including Google and Toyota Motor Corporation Australia.
I believe that traveling gave me experiences that made me a better person. Meeting new people, which is sometimes a challenge, became second nature and I learned to work with many different personalities in both my professional and personal life. Depending only on myself and adapting to various new situations and jobs made me more flexible and open as a person. I believe these experiences have enabled me to think outside the box and enhance my team working capabilities. It has also made me realize that I am a leader.
In 2009 I returned to Canada and decided to update my education to broaden my employment opportunities and achieve my personal goals. In August 2013, I graduated from NAIT with a Bachelors of Business Administration.
My hobby is travel and adventure, and I love to meet new people. I am very outgoing and enjoy people immensely; I love to challenge myself and learn. One of my mentors once told me: “The only way you will be different ten years from now from who you are today is through the people you meet and the books that you read”. I believe in this statement and never want to stop growing through experiences.
Marketing is my passion. I love to plan events and be involved with branding and promoting business. A career in marketing and events planning is something I would enjoy immensely. The ability to travel with work would be something I would love, however I am also happy to be home now surrounded by my friends and family and don't plan on relocating too far.
Writing is also my passion and I believe that the ability to properly communicate is becoming a skill that is difficult to find. Any career that allows me the opportunity to write and work closely with clients and peers will empower me. I am looking forward to the next phase of my life: finding a career
