Hugh P. Klitzke is a freelance voiceover director, producer and coach in New York City. For nearly fifteen years he was the Voiceover Studio Manager at Buchwald NYC and one of the only voiceover casting directors working in NYC full time for any talent agency.
Now Hugh teaches, lectures and coaches talent at voiceoverfortheactor.com. His practice focuses on working voiceover talent and actors who want to apply their skills to voiceover. Hugh also coaches auditions, teaches commercial technique and voiceover self-direction. He has directed booking auditions for animation, commercials, ADR, politicals, podcasts, narration, games, audiobooks, promos, affiliates, trailers, e-learning, and industrials.
To date, Hugh has directed over 135,000 auditions and counting.
Hugh has written over three hundred blog posts on voiceover at voiceoverfortheactor.com. He recently contributed an essay to the sixth edition of The Art of Voice Acting by James Alburger. He is writing his first book.
Hugh is also an award winning composer and lyricist for theater, film and digital media. He has been the head of sound for Penn and Teller, an Equity stage manager, producer at the Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn (now Detroit), a lecturer at SUNY Purchase, assistant to a Baroque trumpet scholar, a certified K-12 music teacher and a two time marathon finisher.
