Hi, my name is Jilin, a Chinese student from Umass Amherst, majoring in Sports Management in Isenberg and Theater. I'm a registered amateur boxer and have competed in several college level fights and Golden Gloves fight, fortunately I was able to bring some beautiful awards back. Since Umass Amherst has a very good Sports Management program and China has a huge potential in sports market, I truly believe I have many career options and a bright future in sports field. China has a huge potential in its sports market and Chinese consumers are hungry for international sports events and different sports brands. The Chinese goverment is also making a strong effort on developing sports market. Have you witnessed the splendid Beijing Olympics? Have you ever seen how popular Kobe is in China? That's the potential we have showed to the world, but I want to say that's far from our best! And it's not the limit that what Chinese people could contribute to the sports industry. Connecting the sports business between China and United States would be a passionate career for me. Besides, under the special political and cultural circumstances in China, I believe I have the edge in developing the Chinese market comparing to many other American sport management students.

I'm also a boxer, who competed for college level and amateur level, and fortunately I have won some beautiful trophies back from the U.S Coast Guard Academy, West Point and Golden Gloves.I recognize boxing as a sweet science, because I feel once you have possessed enough skills on it, the offense and defense would be very interesting and challenging. To be a champ, you have to treat this sport with respect and believe in yourself. Boxing is not only a physiological competition for me, but also an intellectual competition, because you have to develop many strategies and change you game plans as the fight goes on. Everything is coming and changing so quick in boxing that you have to stay focus and make your movements, and this also applies to the business world. When Floyd Mayweather and Zou shiming(a Chinese boxer, Olympics gold medalist) are making millions of dollars, why shouldn't I have a passion on the sports industry and be creative on business?

Theater is also my interest. From Jackie Chan to Marlon Brando, I love all types of acting style. I'm a shy boy few years ago, and then I decide to change it. So I figured out Theater is a good way to change and overcome it, because it is ve
