Hunter Burlett

Student, Transportation Coordinator, and Father in Mount Pleasant, MI

Hello all! I am Hunter Burlett. I currently reside in Mount Pleasant, MI where I am a transportation coordinator for the local public transportation of Isabella County. Before venturing up to Central Michigan, my hometown and roots were in Lansing, MI. I made the choice to move to Mount Pleasant in 2011.

When I am not working or attending my studies at Central Michigan University (where I am earning my Bachelors in Nonprofit and Public Administration, as well as, Political Science), I am spending time with my wife, Ashley, and my son, August, along with our fur babies. We love to travel the great state of Michigan, where we take random day trips to new places. We also like to take trips to different states, when our busy schedules allow. I also enjoy cooking, and expanding my small business (Burlett's Sweets) in which I make Dubai chocolate bars, brownies, rice krispy treats, buckeye brownies, and various cookies.

One goal (or ambition if you will) that I have, is to be able to open a nonprofit that helps those in need of mental health. With today's struggles, many people go untreated and undiagnosed due to insurance issues, lack of insurance, lack of resources, and lack of openings at local therapy offices. Being able to help the community in a manner that not only helps them achieve greatness, but overcome obstacles that limit their ability to be their best selves, is something I strive for.
