Hy N.

“My favourite words are possibilities, opportunities and curiosity. I think if you are curious, you create opportunities, and then if you open the doors, you create possibilities.” Wise words from Mario Testino that I avidly live by. I believe that it is from a standpoint of curiosity that we generate ideas and take in the world and all that it has to offer with more vigor, spirit, and optimism – thus not only becoming multi-faceted in our skills and experiences but leaving a lasting impression among those that we meet along the way.

With the influx of technology and social media, there are unlimited opportunities to take hold of. When I am asked to speak to others of my experiences, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of seizing opportunities, the insatiable desire to continuously learn, and always remembering where you come from. My volunteer work with Siloam Mission, Boys and Girls Club, and the Tallman Foundation in the inner-city of Winnipeg continue to inspire me to make a difference in this world and to remember that my heart is always in the North End.

My role as Vice-President of the Association of Management Students (AIMS) has improved my cross-cultural communication skills. My thirst for knowledge and curiosity has brought me to study international business overseas in France. If you’re looking for someone who has learned to keep an open mind, to have patience and laugh in times when cultural differences become frustrating, someone who is inspired by creativity and thinking outside of the box, then please feel free to join my LinkedIn network.

I feel our world would be so much more radiant if everyone could see life from different sides of the globe.
