Charles Akhimien
My name is Dr Charles Immanuel Akhimien. I am a 26 year old medical doctor from Nigeria and the co-founder of MOBicure, a social enterprise providing mobile technology solutions in healthcare for Nigeria and other developing nations. MOBicure’s flagship product, the OMOMI app was selected as one of 18 winners in the World Summit Youth Award as well as the Best Initiative in the 4th edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona. I got an honourable mention in Healthcare in the Tech-I 2014 competition, organised by the U.S State Department and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Marrakech, Morocco.
A prolific writer, in 2013 I was the winner of the World Environment Day 2013 Blogging competition organised by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and I represented UNEP in Mongolia as the official blogger for the for World Environment Day 2013.
In addition I am an Alumnus of the Yunus & Youth Global Fellowship Program, Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, as well as an Alumnus of the Global Startup Youth. I bagged my medical degree from the prestigious School of Medicine of the University of Benin
