Hi, I’m Nakia. I’m an Advocate Case Manager and C.E.O./Founder of Community Advocate Plus. I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., and I hold a Sociology degree from Fayetteville, N.C.
After gathering years of experience working with others to improve their lives, the tables turned and I needed help, I am a domestic violence victim/survivor. My husband decided he would try to kill me in front of my children. After undergoing horrific various abuse, he was adamant on making me suffer by ordering me to sleep in my car if I refused to be romantically intimate. I made the decision to leave and found myself and my children in a domestic violence shelter where the resources they gave be helped me to stabilize.
It became an important mission to offer services and resources that would help people to combat social issues that exists currently. It is always great to have an action plan to resolve societal concerns but the best answer is to expose the community to resources that are unaware to some of the public. Offering supports through interconnecting people with avenues of housing, employment, advocacy, nutritional needs, health, educational needs, and more, is our goal. Our mission is to respectfully and responsibly connect the community with resources that help meet basic needs and overcome challenges. It gives people the ability to not only stabilize their lives, but to also thrive thereafter.
