Lola Anthony

Once upon a time I heard drums playing and I was so moved I jumped onstage alongside him and I danced and danced. Playing the drums was Tito Puente. I was five. My parents simple, yet lively folks from Puerto Rico had taken me to a cabaret on a New Year's eve for a lack of a available babysitters. True story. It's Puerto Rico so being severly underage was not an issue. I grew up in NY though, doing theater. I studied with Wynn Handman of the American Place Theater. I have performed at the Kennedy Center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Repertorio Espanol and many stages Off Broadway. I currently live in Los Angeles. I recently played Maya a tough spokenword artist/ homeless war vet living on Skid Row in the play LOW HANGING FRUIT at the Zephyr Theater in West Hollywood. I also recently played Ms. Lopez- a rookie mediator alongside Freddy Rodriguez ( NBC's The Nightshift) and Marley Shelton (Sin City) in the Imagen Award nominated short film MEDIATION, which is currently doing the festival circuit. I will be working on an action thriller next which I will tell you more about as we get closer to the time....Shhh...Thank you for taking the time to visit my page!
