I have been working in health and safety for over ten years. It started with Cochrane Search and Rescue, in 2003, then I decided to become an Emergency Medical Responder. My next career step was taking a post graduate certificate in Disaster Science. I then fell into a safety position at Tenaris Prudential Steel for three years, while working there I completed my national construction safety officer. I then completed my certificate in environment health and safety at the University of Calgary, and then started working for Loblaws (Superstore, Extra Foods) as a Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist under a one year contract and now I am the Team Lead in Health and Safety for ConAgra Foods, based in Taber, AB. I am now working for DMT Mechanical as the safety manager based in Lethbridge working in the greater surrounding area, and into BC and Saskatchewan. In 2014 I successfully became a CRSP Canadian Registered Safety Professional.
