Ian is a web developer, server administrator, foodie and linguist based in Austin, TX and Kennebunkport, ME. Currently he is working for Vox Media.

He has worked hard trying to make the web a better place for all of us. He spends much of his time contributing to open source projects, and fine tuning the performance of his own blog, where he comments on the latest with web technology. His commits can be seen on a variety of sites on the net, from The Economist to ICANN, he has striven to always improve every site he touches.

He also specializes in international and cultural work, having spent considerable time in Spain and China, and being fluent in both Spanish and Mandarin. While not coding in front of his computer, he can be found reading a biography, treatise, or a work of fiction.
