I’m Ian Fulton Roberts. I’m a Private Equity professional born in the USA, living in France, working for a German HQ private equity firm, Niu Invest SE. I am a fan of entrepreneurship, Tennis, and Private equity. I’m also interested in Venture Capital and Capital Markets.
I am currently Head of Capital Markets and Chief Investment Officer at the private equity firm Niu Invest SE, created by Caner SA, which serves as the private equity management company vehicle for spin-off property tech assets of Aggregate Holdings SA, combining the collective assets of Cevdet Caner and Günther Walcher, headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with additional office in London, United Kingdom and satellite offices in Monaco and South of France, focused on valuation arbitrage opportunities.
30 year veteran of Wall Street, having worked at several leading bulge bracket firms which have included; Lehman Brothers, Dean Witter, Morgan Stanley and UBS.
Most recently, I served as the Managing Partner of the Alpha Deal Group companies, both Alpha Deal Group LLC and Alpha Deal Group Ltd, from 2013 to 2022, a buy-side capital markets deal origination firm which grew organically from an emerging markets management consultancy group focused on equity valuation arbitrage to later expand to also include late stage private accelerator programs. I have also led and successfully managed deal teams in reverse mergers, alternative public listings and SPAC/de-SPAC scenarios, from deal origination to PIPE and secondary market support.
Sector agnostic, I have considerable capital markets experience in IoT Tech, Biotech, Pharma, Alternative Energy, Ed Tech, AI Tech, VR/AR Tech, Blockchain Tech, Consumer Products, Mining, LNG, Mobile Gaming, Esports and Clean Tech.
I hold an AB (Bachelor of Arts) in Government from Harvard University, Class of 1989, where I once played college tennis competitively and I am still today a devoted alumnus and active tennis player.
