Ian has identified the need for an independent advisory, support and resource service which can allow for an impartial assessment of the issues and provision of objective advice as to the options available to managers and owners of strata titled property.
The nature of the role of managers and councillors and their formal relationship with individual owners often leads to advice being provided which may not be impartial or appropriate. Individual owners, including developers, often have issues which arise through ignorance of their responsibilities and rights.
His appointment means that independent and practical advice or information is available without any direct or implied involvement with the matter at hand or the personal interests involved.
Uninformed expectations and potential conflicts of interest or opinion are dealt with before they cause argument or animosity among members of a strata company.
From his 20 + years experience with the management of strata companies and the interests of parties involved in the strata titles industry I am in a unique position to assess the relative merits of the clients particular interest or concern. This can often lead to an early and mutually satisfactory resolution of misunderstandings which may quickly evolve into acrimonious dispute. This valuable resource is provided by personal or telephone contact and can be tailored to meet most contingent circumstances.
PROFESSIONAL STANDING
He became involved in managing strata companies in 1987 after returning from a 15 year absence from Australia during which time I was actively managing and advising other managers of small to medium sized businesses in Europe and the United States. My commercial experience is made up of a strong accounting background, direct sales and marketing to industry, recruitment and training of personnel and the development of strategic plans for the success of small business enterprises.
Since 1997 I have provided consultancy advice to those involved in the development, management, and ownership of strata titled property. He continues to consult with selected clients most of whom are either strata managers or individuals referred tohim by strata managers and others engaged in the strata titles industry
