Ian Mausner

Ian Mausner is co-founder, Chief Executive Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager for JS Oliver Capital Management in La Jolla, California. Mr. Mausner oversees JS Oliver’s investment strategy, allocations and methodology and directs its in-depth research strategies. As an experienced money manager and financial advisor, he has provided comprehensive investment advice and managed investment portfolios since he started in the business in 1985.

Prior to founding JS Oliver, Mr. Mausner was with Montgomery Securities (now Banc of America Securities) for ten years, where he was a Managing Director and one of the original members of the Private Client Services Department. During his tenure at Montgomery Securities and Banc of America Securities, he launched and continued to manage the number one team of the Private Client Services Department measured by revenues and assets. He also helped train and mentor numerous new money managers in the firm’s training programs and continued to provide these money managers with guidance and support for their businesses.

From 1989 until 1993, prior to joining Montgomery Securities, Mr. Mausner was with Kidder Peabody as Senior Vice President, and previously at Morgan Stanley from 1985-1989 he worked in similar capacities. He has participated in numerous industry conferences and has made extensive presentations on money management and analyses of the financial markets.

Mr. Mausner received his M.B.A. in 1985 from Stanford Business School with an emphasis in Investment Management and Finance and received his B.A. degree in Economics from Amherst College in 1982. He is very active in children-related philanthropy having served on the boards of the San Diego New Children's Museum and Promises To Kids. Mr. Mausner remains very active with these organizations as well as with Voices For Children. In 2011, he was named San Diego's Patron of the Year.
