Having held several senior management positions at venture capital and investment firms, Ian Schnider has a deep understanding of middle market lending and investing, as well as portfolio management, workouts, restructurings, and distressed mergers and acquisitions. Ian Schnider draws on his background in commercial finance to successfully lead as a Managing Director of Fortress Investment Group LLC.

Prior to his position with Fortress, Ian Schnider was a Managing Director of The Loftus Group, a distinguished turnaround firm that works across several industries. During his tenure with the firm, he led its California office and developed a number of business relationships. He has also worked at Sand Hill Capital and Transamerica Technology Finance Corporation. At each of these firms, he significantly contributed to portfolio growth.

At Fortress Investment Group, Ian Schnider sources, originates, and structures investment opportunities for clients around the world, with a primary focus on middle market lending and distressed investing. Fortress has become one of the most respected investment and asset management firms worldwide since its inception in 1998. At present, the firm handles about $48 billion in equity capital.

Ian Schnider remains dedicated to giving back to individuals in need and provides support to several charitable organizations, including the Navy SEAL Foundation and Children International.
