Public Transit Advocate in Salem, Oregon
I currently serve as the Board President of Cherriots (Salem Area Mass Transit District) where I am committed to increasing the livability of the Salem area through more reliable, equitable, and affordable public transit. For my day job I am the Justice Reinvestment Program Manager for the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission. Previously, I have worked with the Oregon Legislature, Bonneville Power Administration, the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, and the Association of Oregon Counties.
I am a graduate of Oregon State University’s Master of Public Policy program and I have a bachelor’s degree in history from Brigham Young University. I’ve served on the Oregon Citizens’ Utility Board and the Salem City Council Public Transit Committee. My wife, our two daughters, and I live in Salem. Together, we enjoy going to the farmers market, hiking, gardening, and we have a love/hate relationship with remodeling our house.
