Ian Trammell

Ian Trammell is the Executive Director, Economic & Cluster Development at New Jersey Innovation Institute, which is a NJIT corporation focused on helping private enterprises discover what’s possible.

Ian is managing NJII's new regional economic development pilot project, NJ MarketShift. NJ MarketShift, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, is designed to strengthen New Jersey’s Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industries by providing businesses with the tools required to compete effectively in the changing global marketplace. NJ MarketShift also helps community leaders and policymakers by providing powerful web-based applications to improve regional planning and economic development efforts. The goal of MarketShift is to create a sustainable community of New Jersey companies that connect with each other to improve their opportunities in supplier networks.

Ian began his career as a public school teacher and administrator. He then served as a Catholic priest for ten years, gaining experience in senior executive leadership roles as well as pastoral ministry. During his tenure, he provided vision and cultivated the development of a thriving community. Ian is passionate about guiding individuals and organizations to reach their full potential.
