Bio2013:
Iben Rodriguez designs Secure Cloud Infrastructure Solutions. He got his start maintaining the data communication networks used by military reconnaissance, then setting up and validating Clinical Trial and Adverse Event Tracking systems for global pharmaceuticals, and running the IT department at fabless semiconductor design startup companies. He has also partnered with ecommerce companies and many government organizations to help them migrate their compute cost models from CAPEX to OPEX.
Working closely with Cisco, Microsoft, RedHat, Ubuntu, VMware, and the Center for Internet Security he kicked off and maintains the Benchmark for vSphere ESX hardening and has been selected a vExpert by VMware since 2009.
As part of the Virtualization Security Roundtable podcast series Iben works closely with vendors to stay in front of the latest products and trends in Cloud Computing.
Iben is considered one of the foremost industry experts in Cloud and Enterprise Security. Trained in Agile, ITIL, SOX, PCI-DSS, ISO27000 he develops and delivers both new architecture designs as well as assessments and remediation for existing environments.
He’s presented on virtualization security at many conferences including OPNFV, OpenStack, MISTI, AppCon, InfoSec Cloud, Network World, SANs, and VMworld.
Favorite hobbies are flying kites and photography. Fluent in Spanish. Loves to travel and solve problems.
