Jason McCrimmons

Iceman Corporate Enterprises (ICE) was founded by Jason McCrimmon, an African American hockey professional and native Detroiter, for the main purpose of increasing the participation of minority and less fortunate youth in hockey in the United States and abroad. The camp concept was developed also because of the lack of available and affordable opportunities to learn hockey in minority and poor nei...ghborhoods. He is accomplishing this through Fresh Ice Youth Hockey Camps, a division of ICE. Through the camp experiences, McCrimmon focuses on four areas: 1) Hockey Training 2) Building Positive Esteem/Character Building 3) Good fitness and eating habits and (4 Academic Achievement. McCrimmon, now 28, began playing hockey at age four in a local recreation center in Detroit, and was later recruited to play youth hockey in suburban leagues. This gave him the funds and opportuinity to play in the Detroit area and other parts of the midwest and east. From there he moved through ranks to become a professional player. He is the first African American player to become captain of a Finnish team, where he currently plays.
