Ichola Djivede COOVI

I’m Senior Regional Security officer at AfDB with 19 years of professional experience in the military, UN, NGOs and the Private Sector. Before this appointment, I worked as Regional Safety and Security Adviser for International Rescue Committee (IRC) in DR Congo from October to November 2015, as Security Advisor for Plan international Benin from Nov 2013 to July 2014 and for Central African Republic from July 2014 to June 2015. I was with UNDSS as Security officer in charge of emergency communication, planning and Contingency Unit in Central African Republic from 2008 to 2010. I worked as a security consultant in the private sector between 2010 and 2013.

I have good experience in situational awareness in hard and hostile environments, practical skills in monitoring, planning and implementing safety and security operations in the field.

I’m also an experienced security trainer.

I hold an engineering degree in electronics and a Master degree in Political Sciences Option International Security and Defense.

I have to my credit several university publications and personal essays in security management.
