Icy Fern

My name is Icy Fern, and I’m sixteen years old. I have written my whole life, and I am aspiring to become a published novelist and poet. Writing is my passion. It helps me escape from this world, as cheesy as that sounds, and create something else.

I am a fantasy and science fiction writer, although I sometimes write in other genres, such as paranormal. I write novels, short stories, and poetry, but I am mainly dedicated to novels. My work is mostly inspired by nature, but certain things in my life have influenced my writing and ideas sometimes.

I have written three completed novels, as well as an abundance of short stories and poetry. I wrote my first completed novel when I was in sixth grade: a children’s mystery book. My second and third novels were written through the time span of eigth grade, ninth grade, and tenth grade in high school. I have won the April section of Camp NaNoWriMo, writing a total of over 50,000 words.

When I am older, I am planning on double majoring in Creative Writing and Forensic Psychology/Criminology. For now, I am a Senior in High School.

When I’m not writing, I’m dancing. I have danced since I was three with experience in ballet, tap, jazz, Irish Step, and modern. Currently, I am taking belly dance classes.

I was born and raised in West Virginia in a very nature-oriented family, which fueled my love for nature and forests. When I’m older, I want to live in a large city for a few years before moving back into the forest, hopefully in Ireland.
